Minnesota State Moorhead enters Saturday’s home game against the University of Mary coming off an impressive 20-point road win against Southwest Minnesota State on Tuesday. The Dragons earned an 84-64 victory at Southwest, shooting 53 percent (29 of 55) from the field.
Junior guard Charlie Chapman, a transfer from Williston State College, had a big game, scoring 23 points. Chapman was 7 of 10 from the field and 7 of 8 from beyond the 3-point arc.
“I don’t know if it means anything except it’s just a win,” MSUM head coach Chad Walthall said. “We are a work in progress. This team like I said is not a finished product. It’s a team that will continue to grow and we certainly have not figured it out.”
MSUM is 7-4 overall and 4-3 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference heading into this weekend’s games. The Dragons host Mary on Saturday and Northern State on Sunday. Both games are scheduled to start at 4 p.m. and will be televised on Midco Sports Network.
