Lights, Camera, Action: Dragons Games To Be Televised On Midcontinent

Minnesota State Moorhead will have six of its basketball games televised on Midcontinent’s Midco Sports Network in January. The Dragons will have three men’s and women’s basketball doubleheaders aired. The include doubleheaders against the University of Mary on Jan. 7, Northern State on Jan. 8 and Minnesota-Crookston on Jan. 29.

The MSUM games are part of more than 40 live Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference events being broadcast by Midcontinent Communications, NSIC Commissioner Butch Raymond announced Thursday. Click here for the complete game schedule.

Burnsville, Minn. – NSIC Commissioner Butch Raymond announced that the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) and Midcontinent Communications (based out of Sioux Falls, S.D.) have agreed on terms to broadcast over 40 live NSIC events in the upcoming year on Midcontinent’s Midco Sports Network. The agreement will include two football games, four volleyball matches as well as 32 men’s and women’s basketball games. The agreement will also include coverage of the NSIC/Sanford Health Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament semifinals and championship. Midcontinent will produce all the events as well as work with the visiting team’s cable company to broadcast the events locally for traveling teams. 

“The NSIC is pleased to continue this relationship with Midcontinent Communications, which will help showcase the NSIC athlete throughout the region. The emergence of the NSIC on the national scene in NCAA Division II will add plenty of excitement for all viewers,” commented Raymond.  

The first NSIC event will be Minnesota State University, Mankato at Northern State University football game on September 11, 2010. The following Saturday the University of Mary at Augustana football game will be aired. Both games are slated for a 1:00 pm kickoff. All 14 NSIC institutions will be featured in at least one event over the year.  

Midco Sports Netâ„¢ (MidcoSNâ„¢) brings live sports coverage from area high schools, colleges and universities to North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota. Launched in 2010 by Midcontinent Communications, Midco Sports Net is the only dedicated sports network in the Upper Midwest, broadcasting exclusively to nearly 225,000 cable subscribers. Coverage includes teams from NCAA Division I and II, the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) and the Summit League.
